Family Fun Day

15th August 2014
Gill Bewley from Coppull organised a Fun Day on Saturday 12 July 2014 to raise much needed funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. The event was held at the Printers Arms, Chapel Lane, Coppull, in memory of Joan Roby. It was attended by family and friends and also local people who came to enjoy the day and show support. The afternoon was bright and sunny and people brought along picnic blankets and spent the whole afternoon with their families. There was a bouncy castle for the children, a coconut shy, hoopla, tombola, raffle, a cafe stall, handmade chocolates and sweets, plants, a book stall and a BBQ. Everyone enjoyed it! The total raised on the day was just under £1,500.00 but further donations kept on coming and the total amount went up to £1,634. This was then topped up to £2000 by a donation from Keith Roby. Many, many thanks to all those who came to the event, the people who donated gifts for the raffle, tombola, etc., and who baked cakes to sell, companies who gave donations, everyone who helped publicise the event (even from Australia!) and of course the organiser, Gill Bewley, and all those who helped on the day and with the preparation beforehand. Thanks also to Joanne Parr for use of the Printers Arms. Without the help from everyone concerned this event would not have been possible. It is hoped to hold this event on an annual basis and possibly extend it into the evening with a band.

Family Fun Day

23rd July 2014
Thank you to everyone who helped organise/helped out at this event and all the people who came. We raised almost £1500.00 on the day and are still getting donations in from people who couldn't come. It was a very sunny day and families came with picnic blankets and spent the whole afternoon. Everyone enjoyed the day, especially the children. We are hoping to make this an annual event and build on it each year.
